At the 2025 SomewhereFest Music Festival in Wichita, the Kansas Health Foundation set out to connect meaningfully with the community by asking festivalgoers a powerful question: “Picture someone in your life who is struggling financially right now—if you had one wish to help them, what would it be?” Crowdsourcing these answers helped KHF better understand the challenges Kansans face and how to support them. Under Gardner Design’s creative direction, Gardner & Youngman Design produced an eye-catching installation built from shipping containers, painted by graffiti artist HOXXOH. Reclaimed Goodwill t-shirts were washed, screen-printed, and transformed into vibrant flags strung between the containers, given away as one-of-a-kind rewards for participants who shared their stories. The result was a playful, visually striking experience that sparked reflection and conversation, turning a simple question into the start of something bigger.
